This policy explains what information Dribble & Yarn collects, why, and what you can do about it. It's written to be read, not to be survived.
Dribble & Yarn is operated by George Gavin Lawson, trading as Dribble & Yarn, based in New South Wales, Australia.

When you create an account - Your email address - Your password (stored as a cryptographic hash — we never see or store the password itself) - A display name, and optionally a username, bio and profile picture
When you post - The content of your post — text, photos, video - The topic you posted under - The location attached to the post, and its coordinates - The time you posted
When you use the app - Posts you like and save - Direct messages you send and receive - Users you block, and topics you exclude - Reports you file
Automatically - Standard technical information handled by our hosting and database providers, including your IP address, for security, abuse prevention and reliability
What we do not collect - We don't track you across other websites or apps - We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile you - We don't buy data about you from anyone else - We don't record your location in the background — location is attached only to posts you choose to make
Location matters here more than on most platforms, so it deserves its own section.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
We use third-party providers to run the service. They process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, file storage |
| Netlify | Website hosting and delivery |
Beyond these, we share personal information only where we're legally required to, or where it's genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety.
Public — anything anyone using the app can see: - Your posts, including their text, media, topic and location - Your display name, username, bio and profile picture - Like counts
Private — visible only to you and the people involved: - Your direct messages - Your email address - Your blocked users and excluded topics - Reports you file
Database rules are configured so people can only read messages they're party to. That said, no system is perfect — see Security, below.
You can: - See your information — most of it is visible in the app; ask us for the rest - Correct it — edit your profile any time - Delete a post — deletion removes it from the service - Delete your account — email support@dribbleandyarn.com and we'll delete your account and personal information within 30 days - Object or complain — email us; if you're in Australia and unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
If you're in the UK or EU, you have additional rights under the GDPR — including data portability and the right to restrict processing. Email us and we'll honour them.
We use industry-standard measures: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and database rules restricting who can read what.
Being honest about this: no service is perfectly secure, and this one is early. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will tell affected users and notify the OAIC as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Dribble & Yarn is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we'll delete it.
If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us information, email support@dribbleandyarn.com and we'll remove it.
Our database is hosted in Northeast Asia (Seoul), and our hosting provider delivers the site from servers worldwide. If you're outside those regions, your information is transferred and stored internationally. We rely on our providers' contractual safeguards for those transfers.
If we make significant changes we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app. Continuing to use Dribble & Yarn after a change means you accept the updated policy.
